JVC Jazz Festival: Artist Spotlight

We’re two months away from the JVC Jazz Festival, so we hope you’re excited! To keep you informed and in-the-know about the show, learn more about the artists that you will see perform on August 20th!











Dave Koz


Dave Koz is a Grammy nominated and Platinum-selling jazz musician. He is a Los Angeles local and grew up in the Woodland Hills area. After graduating from UCLA, Dave decided to pursue becoming a professional musician and now has recorded with Capitol Records, EMI and Rendezvous! He event has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and performed in a Desperate Housewives episode!!

Ohio Players


The Ohio Players were a street funk and underground R&B group that was prominent during the 1970’s. They were signed several labels during their time including Westbound and Mercury Records. They currently have ten members, four being the original members: James “Diamonds” Williams, Billy Beck, Clarence Willis, and Robert Kuumba. A fun fact is that the Ohio Players are one of the few bands from the 1970’s that are still actively performing! They are far from retirement and thoroughly enjoy performing for large crowds still to this day.

Morgan James


Morgan James is a singer, songwriter, and actress who has performed in many Broadways shows including Motown and The Addams Family. She has a powerhouse voice with an emphasis on soul, R&B, and swing. Morgan grew up in Idaho and developed a passion for music at a young age which led her to pursue it at Julliard. After landing a role in The Addams Family Broadway show in 2008, the rest is history!

Keiko Matsui


Keiko Matsui is a keyboardist who specializes in smooth jazz and jazz fusion. She was born in Tokyo and took piano lessons starting at the age of 5. Keiko continued to take lessons and eventually decided to focus jazz after she developed an interest for it. Throughout her career she has released twenty CDs and has made it on several charts, such as hitting number two on the Billboard’s Weekly Top Contemporary Jazz Albums!

Memorial Day is just around the corner which means summer is (unofficially) here! Take advantage of the three-day weekend and go out and enjoy some family fun! Summer is here, which means Six Flags Hurricane Harbor is open for business! Memorial Day weekend is the opening weekend for Hurricane Harbor before it is open daily starting June 9th.  Kick off the summer with your family by having some fun in the sun and cooling off in our water slides and attractions.  Check out our thrilling slides like the Bonzai Pipelines, Black Snake Summit and Bamboo Racer or enjoy some family fun at the Forgotten Sea Wave Pool, Lizard Lagoon, River Cruise and much more! Fireworks at Knott’s

Knott’s Berry Farm is a great place for a family to spend a day as it has attractions for young toddlers to teenage kids! In honor of Memorial Day, active, retired or veteran U.S. military personnel get free admission! On Sunday, May 28th of Memorial Day Weekend, Knott’s will have a special firework show at 9:45 for you and your family to enjoy.

Summer Movies

Movies are a classic past time and a great way to spend time with family and/or friends! This Memorial Day weekend, there are a few blockbuster movies coming out that will make for an entertaining day at the theater. The fifth installment of the blockbuster series Pirates of the Caribbean, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is set to release May 26th in theatres across the nation. If you’re looking for a great action/adventure movie to watch with the family, this is the movie to see.  Another blockbuster for a more mature audience, Baywatch, will be coming out May 25th. Starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Zac Efron, Baywatch will surely bring the laughs! Make sure to purchase your discounted movie tickets at ACEBSA.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs Chicago Cubs

What better way to spend a summer day then heading out to Dodger Stadium and enjoying a Dodger Dog while watching the Dodgers play? JVC Jazz Festival 2017: What To Expect

We hope you’re as excited for this summer’s JVC Jazz Festival as we are! This year was a great success as tickets were sold out within just two short weeks – the fastest they have ever gone!! With the event still a few months away, we still wanted to keep our members informed, so here’s a run down on what the next steps are if you scored some tickets to this year's JVC Jazz Festival.

When Can I Pick Up My Tickets?

The exact date is still TBD, but we estimate tickets will be in our offices by early August. We will keep you updated through social and email as soon as we have a date, so be sure to sign up for our newsletters and follow us on Facebook so you don’t miss out on any new information!

How Can I Check Where My Seats Are?

The JVC Jazz Festival will be held at the Hollywood Bowl. You can go to their website to see their seating chart, which we included here:

Can I Bring Anything?

The great thing about the JVC Jazz Festival is that attendees can bring food and drinks! Specific details can be found on the Hollywood Bowl site, but you are welcome to bring food, wine, beer, wine glasses, and picnic baskets.
